Extractions and Bone Grafts
Sometimes a tooth cannot be saved and will need to be extracted. Removing a tooth can eliminate pain as well as a source of infection that can be taxing on your body. Dr. Chung has taken extensive advanced training in the field of oral surgery and extracted thousands of teeth. Through profound anesthesia (numbing) techniques and sedation (general anesthesia) he will make sure your experience is a comfortable and painless as possible.
When teeth are extracted there is a socket or hole where the tooth used to be. Not only can this hole be a problem, but it can also create a domino effect by causing bone loss around neighboring teeth and put them in a compromised position as well. However, we can resolve this problem through a quick, simple procedure that is painless and can be done at the time of extraction. Through grafting, bone material can be placed into the socket to fill this hole and preserve the bone around the extraction site and protect neighboring teeth.
