andyDr. Andrew Johnson

Dr. Andrew Johnson attended the University of Nebraska, Medical Center- College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska from August 1986 through April of 1990. In August of 1990 he began his specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He received his Endodontic degree in May 1992. In July of 1992 he began his Endodontic practice in Renton, Washington and currently works out of Fred Dahm Dentistry in Bellevue.

He is currently the president of the John Smith Study Club for the second year in a row and also attends two other study clubs each month. He has kept his skills up to date by completing many continuing education courses each year throughout his career. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, American Dental Association and has applied to the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Johnson is an Endodontist who enjoys educating his patients as well as treating them.

He has been doing Endodontics for 20 years exclusively. He keeps up with the latest technology. He uses the nickel- titanium rotary files and many other hand files and instruments. Magnification and lighting are clinically important in all aspects of Endodontics.  Recently he has purchased a 3D-cone beam imaging system, which is an invaluable tool in treating many different endodontic cases. He believes the 3D- cone beam will become standard of care in the future.

Dr. Johnson has nine employees. His office manager has been with him twenty years and his Administrative Assistant has been with him for 13 years. His receptionist and his Dental Assistants have all been with him over five years each. This provides his patients with the expertise of experience and confidence.

His most satisfying aspect of the practice is treating and caring for his patients. He likes to put himself in the patient’s position and treat them as he would himself, which is how he conducts all aspects of his practice. Making all patients comfortable, getting them out of pain and creating lifelong relationships is his goal for his practice.

Dr. Johnson is married with three children and one grandchild and enjoys spending time with them. His oldest daughter‘s husband is currently in dental school, carrying on the tradition. He is hoping his son in-law will be joining his practice in the future this, being one of the motivations to branch out and start working in the Bellevue location. His hobbies include a number of activities, golf and basketball among his favorites.

With Endodontics, seeing patients in pain in a timely manor is important. His practice is built around seeing patients on same day emergency appointments as they are needed. The advantage of the Bellevue location is the evening appointments that are available for the convenience of patient’s busy schedules.

He will be working out of Dr. Fred Dahm’s new office. It is a brand new fully up to date office. It will provide a great environment to help treat patients in an excellent manner.

He is thankful for his practice over the years and excited to expand and develop great relationships with many patients and doctors in the Renton/Bellevue area.
